Eligibility
Who is eligible?
- Public research institutes in Quebec (IRPQ).
- Partner companies.
- Industrial associations.
- Non-profit organizations only as a second private partner, except nonprofit organizations representing industrial groups.
Eligible expenses
- Salaries and social benefits, except those of university professor-researchers paid by their institution or a government grantor; scholarships for students or postdoctoral fellows.
- Materials, consumables, supplies, and equipment purchase or rental.
- Animal facility and platform fees; travel and stay expenses according to the norms of the Conseil du trésor du Québec.
- Intellectual property management and exploitation fees.
- Professional fees incurred by an IRPQ, including contracts and subcontracting; CRIBIQ management fees.
Selection criteria
- Quality and impact of the innovation; problem to be solved; originality and proposed approach; scientific benefits and advancement of NMT.
- Capacity to carry out the project; technical capacity; expertise and experience of the team; partnership and governance of the project.
- Budget, schedule and risks; financial justification and leverage effect; realism of the calendar and decision milestones; contingency plan and risk management.
- Economic, technological, environmental, and social impacts; concrete benefits for industrial partners; value creation; commercialization potential; reduction of environmental impacts.
How to apply
- Submit the mandatory letter of intent on an ongoing basis.
- Submit the detailed application on one of the three annual deadlines: 20 May 2026, 23 October 2026, or 23 February 2027.
Processing and Agreement
- The letter of intent is analyzed by CRIBIQ before the detailed application is prepared.
- Letters of intent received less than 10 working days before a detailed-application deadline are automatically moved to the next cohort.
- Detailed applications received after the deadline and time are automatically processed in the next project submission wave.
