Who is eligible?
- New Brunswick cranberry growers
- Cranberry farming / cranberry production industry
Who is not eligible
- Cranberry growers that are not established in New Brunswick.
- Cranberry operations with less than one (1) acre of cranberry beds.
- Applicants that are not members in good standing of Canneberges NB Cranberries.
- Projects where the activities will be carried out outside the province of New Brunswick.
Eligible expenses
- Purchase of eligible cranberry plant material (rooted plugs or unrooted cuttings/vines), including shipping, royalty fees, and brokerage fees.
- Bed renovation costs, including destruction of existing plants, breaking up and removal of root mass, sanding, bed levelling, and contouring.
- Purchase of monitoring technologies.
- Purchase of innovative small-scale equipment.
- Purchase of harvesting totes/bins.
Ineligible Costs and Activities
- Drainage work (bed renovation element).
- Irrigation equipment upgrades or purchases (bed renovation element).
- Fertilizer costs (bed renovation element).
- Weed and pest control costs (bed renovation element).
- Irrigating plants / irrigation operating costs (bed renovation element).
Eligible geographic areas
- New Brunswick (activities must be carried out within the province).
Processing and Agreement
- Department of Agriculture, Aquaculture and Fisheries (DAAF) reviews applications after the applicable application deadline (notably, Element A applications are reviewed after June 30, 2025).
- DAAF may verify project requirements on-site before processing claims (e.g., confirming plant density and plant health for Element A, or that beds were renovated following recommended practices for Element B).
- Applicants are informed of approved terms and any reporting requirements in a letter of offer.
- Eligible costs generally must be incurred after April 1, 2025 (and, for Element B, after project approval unless the letter of offer indicates otherwise) to be considered.
- Proof of payment may be required before funding is provided/claims are processed.

- DAAF staff will verify plant density and plant health (Element A) and verify renovations followed recommended practices (Element B) before claims are processed.
- Applicants are responsible for obtaining any required permits, environmental approvals, or certifications needed to complete their project.
