- Relevance of the project to the program goals
- Experience and skillset of the applicant and team
- Return on investment and business growth potential
- For bonus points, third-party investment level may be considered
- Four bonus points will be awarded if you or the majority of your company owners, band stakeholder members, or collective members identify as Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit, Métis), a person from a racialized group, a newcomer to Canada, someone who lives in a northern, rural, or small urban community greater than 50 KM outside of Regina or Saskatoon, a person with a disability or disabled, and/or LGBTQIA2S+; for companies, collectives, and music bands, a minimum 50% of the stakeholders must meet these criteria
How to apply
- Step 1: Review program guidelines
- Read the general guidelines and the program-specific guidelines.
- Check the assessment criteria and submission requirements.
- Step 2: Prepare application materials
- Complete the online application in the Grant Management System.
- Use the current budget template and other required templates.
- Gather supporting documents such as product examples and travel itinerary, if applicable.
- Step 3: Submit through GMS
- Log in to the Grant Management System and submit the final application.
- Applications must be complete and submitted by the deadline.
Processing and Agreement
- An initial review of applications is conducted by Creative Saskatchewan program staff to ensure that the project and applicant meet eligibility requirements of the specific program and that the application is complete.
- Applications that do not qualify for fast tracked approval will be assessed by an external assessment process against the criteria for relevance, experience, and capacity, and impact as defined here.
- In the event that Creative Saskatchewan agrees to fund a project, the applicant will receive written notification in the form of a Letter of Commitment (LOC) that will detail any and all terms and conditions.
- The LOC must be signed by both parties to constitute a formal agreement, and Creative Saskatchewan cannot fund a project until a formal agreement is executed and all pre-conditions are met to the satisfaction of Creative Saskatchewan within the timeframe specified in the LOC.
- The recipient must issue an invoice for the agreed-upon amount of the first payment as stated in the LOC.

- Applicants do not need to wait until one grant is completed before starting another application.
- Successful recipients must acknowledge Creative Saskatchewan’s support on marketing materials and professional social media.
- Recipients must enter into a separate funding agreement and comply with its terms.
- Approved projects must be completed by the date stated in the application, unless an extension is approved.
