Who is eligible?

  • Students from participating Simcoe County municipalities
  • Full-time or part-time undergraduate students in Canada

Who is not eligible

  • Residents of Barrie and Orillia, unless they are the child or grandchild of a County of Simcoe employee or Council member
  • County of Simcoe employees, except summer students
  • Postgraduate students

Processing and Agreement

  • Applications are reviewed by the County of Simcoe bursary committee.
  • Recommendations are presented for award at the annual committee meeting.
  • Recipients are formally approved by County Council in the fall.
  • Successful applicants are notified no earlier than October 6, 2026.
  • Unsuccessful applicants are not formally notified.

  • Successful applicants may be asked to provide proof of enrolment before the bursary is awarded.
  • Successful applicants’ names will be made public in municipal publications.
  • Georgian College recipients may also receive additional bursary support from the college.
