Eligibility

Who is eligible?

  • Canadian non-profit organizations.
  • Canadian associations, institutions, and foundations.
  • Canadian for-profit organizations for non-profit activities only.
  • Government entities able to manage a school community center.

Who is not eligible

  • Individuals.
  • Universities, schools, and school boards.
  • Foreign institutions and organizations.
  • Government organizations, except where specifically allowed for a school community center.

Eligible expenses

  • Artist and performer fees, including related travel and copyright costs.
  • Administrative costs such as salaries, benefits, rent, room rental, utilities, telephone, internet, and office supplies.
  • Equipment and capital expenses, including software and equipment rental or purchase.
  • Travel, meals, accommodation, venue rental, insurance, permits, consulting, training, and promotion costs.
  • In-kind contributions for capital projects for community radio stations.

Ineligible Costs and Activities

  • Activities requiring ongoing funding under project funding.
  • Applicants or activities outside the eligible organization types.

How to apply

  • Step 1: Review program guidance
    • Read the application guidelines.
  • Step 2: Prepare the application
    • Complete and sign the application form.
    • Gather the required documentation.
  • Step 3: Submit the application
    • Send the complete package by email to the national program address or the appropriate regional office.
  • Step 4: Two-step regional project process, where applicable
    • Request and submit a Letter of Intent by email.
    • If retained, complete and submit the full application package.

  • Regional project applications may require a two-step process, with a Letter of Intent reviewed first.
  • Only retained project proposals proceed to the full application stage.
