Eligibility

Who is eligible?

  • Professional literature and storytelling organizations responsible for holding a national or international event.

Who is not eligible

  • Organizations that present a program made up mostly of activities not recognized as professional.
  • Organizations already supported under another CALQ program or whose support falls under the SODEC.
  • Organizations with a pending application under the Specific Programming Support program covering all or part of the same support period and the same activities.

Selection criteria

  • Artistic quality, weighted at 50%: clarity of the artistic vision, consistency between programming and vision, quality of past and proposed programming, artistic boldness, and quality of reception and presentation conditions.
  • Dissemination and reach, weighted at 25%: attendance, audience diversification, public mediation and awareness activities, networks and partnerships, and contribution to the territory.
  • Contribution to the artistic community, weighted at 25%: integration of emerging writers and storytellers, inclusion, remuneration efforts, national or international reach, and development of the sector or disciplines.

How to apply

  • Use Mon dossier CALQ to submit the request.
  • In the new Soutien à la mission section of the organization profile, deposit the documents proving eligibility; if the organization did not receive mission support in 2023-2024, also file the Efficacité organisationnelle appendix there, then click Transmettre.
  • Create a new application in Mon dossier CALQ according to the organization profile, select the main profile if the organization has more than one mandate, attach the requested forms and supporting documents, complete the final declaration, and submit the complete file.

Processing and Agreement

  • CALQ sends an acknowledgment of receipt by email.
  • Organizations registered in Mon dossier CALQ can follow the progress of their application online.
  • Admissible applications are first reviewed for eligibility by program officers, then sent to the advisory committee for merit review, followed by the eco-responsibility assessment and the financial and governance review.
  • The results are then submitted to management and finally to the board of directors, whose decision is final.
  • If the application is accepted, the organization receives an announcement and agreement letter describing the payment and use conditions; if the application is inadmissible, CALQ sends a letter explaining the reasons.
