Selection criteria

  • Challenge: relevance, engagement, and impact (40%)
  • Feasibility: work plan, leadership, and budget justification (30%)
  • Capability: team expertise, Indigenous leadership, and community linkages (30%)
  • Applications must score at least 3.0 in each criterion

How to apply

  • Step 1: Prepare the proposal
    • Draft the project description, results plan, ethics approach, risk section, team profile, and budget justification.
    • Prepare the required supporting documents, including the collaboration letter and registration documents.
  • Step 2: Complete the online application
    • Create or use a SurveyMonkey Apply account.
    • Fill in the application form and upload the required files.
  • Step 3: Submit before the deadline
    • Submit electronically through SurveyMonkey Apply.
    • Ensure the application is received by September 23, 2025, at 23:59 EDT.
  • Step 4: After submission
    • Receive an acknowledgement of receipt if submitted on time.
    • Respond to any follow-up requests if selected for further review.

Processing and Agreement

  • Applications are first screened for eligibility.
  • Eligible proposals are reviewed by a merit review committee.
  • Successful and unsuccessful applicants are notified in December 2025.
  • Selected applicants may be asked to revise the proposal, budget, and administrative documents.
  • A Grant Agreement must be signed before funds are issued.

Additional information

  • Applications can be submitted in English, French, or Spanish.
  • One proposal per lead applicant organization.
  • Selected applicants may need country approval before funding is finalized.
  • Funding is subject to the execution of a Grant Agreement.
