Overview

Provides up to $20,000 per project to support Indigenous health and wellness research grounded in community priorities in the Northwest Territories or Yukon. Funds support community engagement and relationship building, project planning and design, and knowledge exchange and sharing activities.

Eligibility

  • The project is led by, or delivered in partnership with, an Indigenous community member, researcher, student, or community-based organization.
  • The applicant can hold and manage funds through an affiliated organization (not as an individual recipient).
  • The project focus relates to Indigenous health and wellness topics within the Northwest Territories or Yukon.
  • The project aligns with at least one NT NEIHR priority area (capacity building, community-based research, co-learning/training, or knowledge translation and sharing).

How to apply

Step 1: Prepare application package
  • Complete the application form.
  • Gather the required supplemental documents.
Step 2: Choose submission method
  • Submit via the online Google Form and upload the supplemental documents, or
  • Submit by email with the completed application form and supplemental documents.
Step 3: Submit and await review
  • Submit at any time while the program budget remains available (ongoing intake).
  • Expect an update within approximately 4–6 weeks after submission.

Processing and Agreement

  • Applications are reviewed and a decision is typically provided 4–6 weeks after submission.
  • Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis until the program reaches its maximum budget.
