This program provides up to $10,000 per year per organization to support innovative, small-scale projects in Haida Gwaii. Funding supports initiatives focused on job creation, health and wellness, education and training, community building, and cultural and environmental preservation.
Activities funded
- Small, innovative projects that create new employment opportunities for islanders.
- Programs that enhance physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing through healthy lifestyle promotion, healthcare access, or community-based wellness initiatives.
- Educational projects and training programs that build skills for future employment, personal development, or community leadership.
- Initiatives that foster collaboration among local organizations, businesses, and residents to strengthen social bonds and address community needs.
- Projects that protect and celebrate cultural heritage and the natural environment while promoting sustainable resource use.
