Who is not eligible

  • Organizations not in good standing with the CIF
  • Organizations without good standing with Information Services Corporation, if they are Saskatchewan nonprofit applicants
  • Applicants seeking support for programs that primarily benefit people living on-reserve
  • Organizations that have already received a CIF Community Grant Program grant for the same summer delivery program
  • Organizations submitting more than one application per deadline

Eligible expenses

  • Salaries for employees directly involved in program delivery
  • Independent contractor fees for instructors and facilitators directly involved in program delivery
  • Traditional Knowledge Keeper, Elder, and Elder Helper honorariums, including tobacco, broadcloth, and/or tea offerings
  • Supplies directly related to program delivery
  • Food and nutrition expenses approved as an important component of program delivery
  • Facility rental fees for additional temporary space required for program delivery
  • Transportation expenses approved for transporting participants or delivering the program to participants
  • General operating expenditures related to program delivery, up to 20% of the approved grant request

Processing and Agreement

  • Summer grant applications are reviewed to confirm eligibility and completeness

  • Successful applicants receive an approval letter and funding agreement
  • The first payment is released after the signed agreement is returned to the CIF office
  • A final report is reviewed before the remaining payment is released
