Ineligible Costs and Activities

  • Work already started or completed before application approval.
  • Routine maintenance, including minor repairs and most painting projects.
  • Landscaping and interior elements that are not heritage attributes.
  • Sheds or outbuildings that are not heritage attributes.
  • Work using synthetic materials such as plastic, vinyl, or aluminum.

Processing and Agreement

  • Applications are reviewed by Township staff with support from the Heritage Centre Wellington Committee.
  • Applicants may be asked to provide additional information before a decision is made.
  • Applicants are notified of approval, approval with conditions, or refusal, usually within about 30 days.
  • Approved projects must be completed, inspected, and cost-reconciled before payment is issued.
  • Approval can be revoked if conditions are not met or the work is not completed as required.
