Who is eligible?

  • Charitable organizations registered with Canada Revenue Agency (CRA)
  • Structured non-profit or not-for-profit groups or organizations

  • Projects that build on the strengths of the community to respond to identified issues and priorities
  • Projects that demonstrate responsible financial and legal accountability
  • Projects that are timely, realistic, and within the capacity of the organization to carry out
  • Projects that do not duplicate existing services, unless the overlap is warranted

How to apply

  • Read the Grant Application form and Guidelines available on the forms page.
  • Submit the grant application online using Google Forms.
  • If needed, create a Google account using any existing email address.
  • Read the grant policy and guidelines before starting the online application.

Processing and Agreement

  • All qualified applications are reviewed based on merit in relation to the grant criteria and available funds.
  • CFSV may conduct interviews of representatives of the applicant, if necessary.
  • CFSV may set terms and conditions on any grants awarded.
  • Successful organizations must attend a granting ceremony to complete the initial phase of the grant process.
  • Grant recipients must evaluate their projects and submit a Progress Report and a Final Report.
  • The grant is not considered complete until the final report is received.

  • Intakes are held in February and October annually.
  • Applications are submitted online using Google Forms.
  • Applicants must have a Google account; a Gmail address is not required.
  • Two official signatures are required from the organization to apply.
