Overview
Provides up to $25,000 to support community-focused initiatives in Southeastern Alberta. Funding targets priorities such as workforce development, inclusion and belonging, basic needs, and (in rural areas) healthcare access, housing availability, and reducing social isolation.
Activities funded
- Workforce development, job training, and economic resilience initiatives.
- Programs that support inclusion, community engagement, and mental well-being.
- Initiatives addressing basic needs (food security, housing stability, physical and mental health services).
- Rural initiatives improving healthcare access (e.g., mobile clinics, outreach).
- Rural initiatives addressing housing availability and reducing social isolation.
Eligibility
- Applicant must be a qualified donee.
- Project must address community needs in Southeastern Alberta.
- Registered Alberta non-profit societies in good standing and existing for at least five years may apply (up to $5,000), or complete the affiliate process for requests over $5,000.

How to apply
- Step 1: Submit Letter of Intent (LOI)
- Complete the LOI on the grant platform for the project proposal.
- Step 2: Receive eligibility decision
- If the project eligibility is approved, you will be invited to proceed.
- Step 3: Submit full application
- Complete the full application after receiving an invitation.
Processing and Agreement
- Grant decisions are finalized within two (2) months of the application deadline.
- Project eligibility is reviewed after the Letter of Intent (LOI) before an invitation to submit a full application.
Additional information
- Funded through the Community Fund’s investment income, supported by donors.
- Two granting cycles per year (Spring and Fall).
- If a deadline falls on a weekend, applications are due by noon the following Monday.
