Documents Needed

  • Proof of Not For Profit status, such as a Revenue Canada Charitable Registration Number.
  • Detailed event plan or description.
  • Previous year’s balance sheet and income and expense statements, if applicable.
  • Current year’s event budget, list of all funding sources for the event, and a completed Fire and Emergency Plan.
  • Letter of confirmation from the board or committee showing that the board or committee is aware of and approves the request.

Eligibility

Who is eligible?

  • Not-for-profit groups and organizations.
  • Groups and organizations governed by a community-based volunteer board of directors.

Who is not eligible

  • Local recreation groups, such as sports groups.

Ineligible Costs and Activities

  • Operating expenses of an organization, association, or group.

Selection criteria

  • Priority is given to registered not-for-profit groups or organizations with legal documentation to support their status, such as a charitable number.
  • Need for the event.
  • Cost effectiveness and financial viability.
  • Contribution to the quality of life in the community.
  • Community response and apparent quality.

How to apply

  • Completed applications can be emailed to Rob Lilbourne, Director of Community Services, or mailed to the Municipality of Strathroy-Caradoc, 52 Frank St., Strathroy, ON N7G 2R4, Attention: Robert Lilbourne, Director of Community Services.
  • Applications must be received no later than October 31 of the previous year.

Processing and Agreement

  • The Community Development Advisory Committee evaluates applications and forwards recommendations to Municipal Council for final approval.
  • Council makes the final decision on all financial assistance requests.
  • If the application is successful, the event must identify the Municipality as a major supporter and comply with the Municipal Branding Policy.
  • The organization or group must submit a final report within 90 days after the event detailing how the funds were used and how the municipality was promoted for its support, and include the event’s income and expense statement.
  • Any unused portion of the CEP remains the property of the Municipality and must be repaid on request.
