Who is eligible?
- Registered charities
- First Nations, municipalities, and public bodies performing a function of government in Canada
- BC registered nonprofit societies with a fiscal sponsor
Who is not eligible
- Organizations outside the Comox Valley that cannot show a direct local benefit
- Religious or sectarian organizations serving only their members or direct religious purposes
- Political organizations or campaigns
- Organizations or initiatives that discriminate against protected groups

- Organizational capacity-building and modest capital costs

Selection criteria
- Clarity of the proposal’s main goal and alignment with the grant objectives.
- Feasibility and detail of the proposed plan.
- Significance of the project and relevance to the funding focus area.
- Expected community impact if the project is not delivered.
- Clear and measurable outcomes, plus a reasonable budget.
How to apply
- Step 1: Review application materials

- Prepare the budget template and supporting information.
- Step 2: Complete the online application
- Submit the application through the Grants Portal.
- Save progress and complete all required questions before the deadline.
- Step 3: Submit before the deadline
- Send the completed application online by the stated closing date and time.

Processing and Agreement
- Applications are first checked for eligibility and completeness.
- A community review taskforce evaluates eligible applications and makes recommendations.
- Applicants are notified of funding decisions in December.
- Approved applicants must complete Conditions of Granting forms.
- Funds are distributed after approval, and final reports are due through the Grants Portal.

- Applicants may submit only one application per calendar year.
- Organizations may apply as a fiscal sponsor for one or more registered nonprofit societies.
- Priority may be given to applications from equity-deserving groups.
- Funded applicants must complete Conditions of Granting forms.
