Who is eligible?
- Registered charities
- First Nations, municipalities, and public bodies performing a function of government in Canada
- BC registered nonprofit societies with a fiscal sponsor
Who is not eligible
- Organizations outside the Comox Valley that cannot show a direct local benefit
- Religious or sectarian organizations serving only their members or direct religious purposes
- Political organizations or campaigns
- Organizations or initiatives that discriminate against protected groups

- General operating costs
- Staff wages and staffing costs
- Program costs and adaptations
- Materials, supplies, and equipment
- Organizational capacity-building and modest capital costs

- Scholarships or bursaries funded elsewhere by the Foundation
- Religious or sectarian activities serving only members or direct religious purposes
- Political activities supporting or opposing a party or candidate

Processing and Agreement
- Applications are first checked for eligibility and completeness.
- A community review taskforce evaluates eligible applications and makes recommendations.
- Applicants are notified of funding decisions in December.
- Approved applicants must complete Conditions of Granting forms.
- Funds are distributed after approval, and final reports are due through the Grants Portal.

- Organizations may apply as a fiscal sponsor for one or more registered nonprofit societies.
