Regional application instructions updated
The Cooperation with the Community Sector guidance now presents the regional project application process in clearer Step 1 and Step 2 language, and the regional coverage for project applications has been revised to include Quebec in the listed regions. Support hours also changed from 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.–6:30 p.m. ET. The application deadline structure and regional routing for project applications were reorganized, so applicants should review the updated instructions before submitting. No funding amounts or application email address changed.

The Community Cultural Action Fund — Community Life supports Canadian not-for-profit institutions and organizations, and provincial and territorial governments and their creations, to strengthen the cultural, artistic and heritage actions of official-language minority communities. It funds project-related implementation costs for arts, culture and heritage initiatives.

Selection criteria
- Links with the Community Cultural Action Fund subcomponent objectives, while referring to the definitions of action in the areas of culture, arts and heritage, and outreach
- Project that provides contribution to the development of official-language minority communities through action in the areas of culture, arts and heritage
- Evolution of achievements in the areas of culture, arts or heritage within official-language minority communities
- The activities are funded from various funding sources
- The activities are supported by a variety of quality partners and the project is innovative or develops best practices
How to apply
- Read the Application Guidelines in their entirety before completing your application.
- For a project funding application at the national level, complete and sign the Application form – Official Languages Support Programs by selecting the Community Cultural Action Fund subcomponent from the drop-down list, affix the date, attach all the required supporting documents, and submit your complete funding application package by email to dglo-olsp@pch.gc.ca.
- For a regional project funding application, contact your respective regional office to request the Letter of Intent form.
- Complete and submit the Letter of Intent form by email.
- Indicate the name of your organization and the name of the project in the subject line of your email.
- If your project proposal is retained and you are invited to submit a complete funding application, complete and sign the Application form – Official Languages Support Programs by selecting the Community Cultural Action Fund subcomponent from the drop-down list, affix the date, attach all the required supporting documents, and submit the complete funding application package by email using the list of regional offices.
Processing and Agreement
- The decision standard for Development of Official Language Communities Program (Community Life - Community Cultural Action Fund) is 20 weeks.
- We will acknowledge receipt of your application within two weeks of receiving your application in our office.
- Funding decisions are based on the number and quality of applications received for each Community Cultural Action Fund subcomponent application deadline.
- Only organizations whose project proposals are retained will be invited to present a complete funding application.
- At the end of your project, a grant may require a report and/or participation in the evaluation of results, while a contribution requires a signed funding agreement and a final report.
