  • Organizational operating costs, staff salaries, and consulting fees
  • Deficit reduction, fundraising, conference, and membership fees
  • Alcohol, tobacco, cannabis, fireworks, and single-use plastic products
  • Major capital expenditures, travel, and accommodation
  • Projects charging admission or registration fees, or promoting political or religious activity

Processing and Agreement

  • Applications are reviewed by the Community Development team and, when needed, other internal departments.
  • The review process may take up to eight weeks.
  • Successful applicants must sign a funding agreement before receiving payment.
  • Unsuccessful applicants may receive follow-up, and appeals can be reviewed by the Director of Recreation and Culture.
  • A final report is required within 60 days after the project ends.

Additional information

  • Applications are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Applications should be submitted at least two months before the project date.
  • Projects in April and May are prioritized in the review process.
  • Receipts or proof of purchases must be kept for 12 months.
