Who is eligible?
- Commercial businesses (Alectra Utilities commercial customers) located in eligible areas of York Region
- Owners, operators, renters, or leaseholders of commercial facilities in eligible areas of York Region
- Multi-unit residential buildings (MURBs) — for air conditioning systems serving common areas (e.g., corridors) only
Who is not eligible
- Businesses or facilities that are not commercial customers of Alectra Utilities (e.g., residential account holders).
- Organizations with facilities located outside the eligible York Region postal code areas listed by the program.
- Facilities with cooling units that are less than one year old or not in working condition.
- For the limited-time smart thermostat offer: facilities that are not Enbridge Gas customers.
- For the limited-time smart thermostat offer: facilities that only have RTUs that do not provide both heating and cooling to a regularly occupied indoor space, or that use air source heat pump RTUs.
Eligible expenses
- HVAC tune-up service for rooftop units (RTU), air conditioning or heat pump systems (including airflow correction, air filter cleaning or replacement, digital refrigerant analysis, and cleaning of indoor blower, evaporator and condenser coils).
- Refrigerant charge adjustment (refrigerant top-up) identified during the tune-up.
- Demand controlled ventilation (DCV) system installation.
- Advanced rooftop unit (RTU) controls installation.
- Electronically commutated motor (ECM) supply fan motor replacement (in eligible VAV units).
- Installation of new fan-powered VAV units equipped with ECM/brushless DC fan motors (where replacing within an existing building).
- Replacement HVAC belts (notched belts or synchronous belts) when replacing a smooth belt.
- Supply and installation of an ecobee enhanced smart thermostat (limited-time offer; when replacing an existing non-Wi-Fi thermostat).
