Collective Training Program in Second-Language Didactics

Who is eligible?

• School service centres (CSS) and school boards (CS).
• Professional associations.
• Professional groups or regroupements professionnels.

Eligible expenses

• Animation fees.
• Substitute teacher costs.
• Travel and stay expenses.
• Printing of documents.
• Room rental for the training venue.

Ineligible Costs and Activities

• Equipment costs such as computers and projectors.
• Animation and travel or stay costs for a pedagogical advisor employed by a school board.

• The project presentation must be clear and explicit.
• The project must respect the program’s general and specific objectives.
• The project must respond to the needs expressed by teachers.
• For training activities and conferences or congresses, the project must comply with the registration and financing rules; training activities must also fit the reflexivity axis.
• For special projects, the material must respect second-language didactics requirements, align with the Programme de formation de l’école québécoise, be self-manageable, include facilitator and participant materials and follow-up guidance, and the training delivered with it must not exceed two days.

• For a school service centre or school board, the general management may designate a person to complete the project form on CollecteInfo.
• For school service centre or school board project submissions, presentations take place in May each year.
• For an association or professional grouping, the responsible person must complete the project presentation form and send it by email to PLS@education.gouv.qc.ca.

• Applications are analyzed by a committee.
• In August, the person responsible communicates the decision and sends a copy to the president of the association or professional grouping, or to the general management of the school board that finances the projects.
• For reimbursement, the request must include the signature sheet for each day of training and the synthesis of individual evaluations, and the Ministry may ask for original supporting documents.
• The commission scolaire must request prior authorization for any modification affecting the nature, scope, pace, or planned expense breakdown of the project, and the subvention cannot be transferred to another project.
• The reimbursement is sent directly to the responsible commission scolaire, which then reimburses the association or professional grouping at the end of the year in which the project was carried out.

• The program was created in collaboration with the Ministère du Patrimoine canadien under the Canada-Québec agreement on teaching in the minority language and in second-language instruction.
