Eligibility
Who is eligible?
- Post-secondary students enrolled in an accredited educational institution throughout the duration of the proposed placement.
- CMPA member mentor companies.
- Joint mentor and mentee applications.
Who is not eligible
- Employees or family members of the mentor company cannot be mentees.
- Mentor applicants cannot be employers or family members of the mentee in a joint application.

Selection criteria
- Applications are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Viability of the mentor-mentee relationship, including shared goals, post-placement employment opportunities, financial contribution, commitment to share expertise, and training capacity.
- Clear internship objectives and skills development goals.
- Strength of the proposed training schedule compared with the mentee's education, professional goals, work or volunteer experience.
- Demonstrated commitment to the film, television and interactive production industry.
How to apply
- Apply through the online application portal.
- Complete both the mentor and mentee applications.
- Provide the requested information and supporting documentation in the form.
Processing and Agreement
- Each mentor company must sign a contract with CMPA and the mentee upon selection.
- The contract outlines the program requirements, including reporting procedures and how funds will be disbursed.
- Each financial award must be applied solely to the mentee's stipend.
- CMPA contributions are disbursed in monthly instalments.
- Each instalment is paid after submission of an invoice and the required supporting documentation.

- Up to 45 placements are available.
- At least 50% of placements are dedicated to priority groups for the Government of Canada: women in STEM, Indigenous students, persons with disabilities, visible minorities and newcomers, as well as first-year students.
