Who is eligible?

• Commercial, industrial or irrigation FortisBC or municipal electricity customers of Grand Forks, Penticton, Summerland or Nelson Hydro
• Owners or long-term leaseholders of existing commercial or industrial buildings
• Builders/developers or owners of new commercial or industrial construction projects

Who is not eligible

• Retailers, wholesalers, contractors, groups, clubs, organizations or associations

Eligible expenses

• ENERGY STAR commercial clothes washer – electrically heated water
• ENERGY STAR commercial clothes washer – natural gas heated water

Ineligible Costs and Activities

• Purchases from retailers, wholesalers, contractors, groups, clubs, organizations, or associations.
• Appliances not listed on FortisBC’s approved appliance list.
• Applications submitted after the 60-day deadline.
• Applications for appliances not purchased and paid for in full during the rebate period.

Eligible geographic areas

• Grand Forks
• Penticton
• Summerland
• Nelson Hydro

• Compliance with program requirements.
• Valid purchase date and proof of purchase.
• Appliance listed as qualifying by FortisBC.

• Purchase and install eligible equipment/products.
• Alternatively, apply online for laundry rebates with your FortisBC electricity account number or municipal account number from Penticton, Summerland, Grand Forks or Nelson Hydro, your email, and scanned or pdf copies of all paid receipts for the purchase and installation of products relevant to the rebate you are applying for.
• Ensure all receipts are marked “paid,” clear, legible, itemized and indicate relevant information such as brand, model number and any other required information in your application.

• Qualifying FortisBC Customers will receive the rebate as a credit on their electric utility bill.
• Grand Forks, Nelson Hydro, Summerland, or Penticton electric utility customers will receive the rebate by cheque.
• Some products may be eligible for point-of-sale FortisBC rebates.

• FortisBC may, at its discretion, attend at the Customer’s premises to verify installation of the Qualifying Appliance.
• By applying, the Customer agrees FortisBC may collect, use, and disclose Customer Information to process, administer, and evaluate the program and develop other FortisBC energy efficiency programs.
• FortisBC may contact the Customer by phone, direct mail, or similar methods to evaluate the effectiveness of the program, which may include surveys.
• FortisBC’s decisions relating to the program, including product acceptability, Customer eligibility, and amount of rebate, shall be final and binding and not subject to appeal.
