  • Buildings with only four or fewer units for multi-unit residential rebates
  • Workplaces without at least five employees on site

How to apply

  • Step 1: Pre-approval application
    • Submit the pre-approval application and required contractor consultation form.
    • Include organization details, project quote, and any required consent or plan documents.
  • Step 2: Pre-approval decision
    • Wait for FortisBC or BC Hydro to review the application and issue a decision by email.
    • If approved, follow the next-step instructions provided.
  • Step 3: Purchase and install
    • Buy the approved equipment after pre-approval.
    • Have the work completed by a licensed electrical contractor.
  • Step 4: Final rebate submission
    • Complete the final rebate application form.
    • Upload invoices, contractor forms, photos, connectivity proof, and any other required documents.

Processing and Agreement

  • Applications are reviewed after submission
  • Applicants receive an approval or refusal email, usually within 30 to 90 days depending on the rebate type
  • Pre-approval is required before buying or installing chargers for charger rebates
