Overview
NRCan can fund up to 75% of total project costs for eligible proponents. The program supports innovative clean fuels awareness, knowledge-building, and capacity-building or training projects across industries and consumers.
Activities funded
- Innovative projects that address awareness and knowledge gaps on clean fuels and clean fuel technologies.
- Initiatives that increase understanding of opportunities, benefits, and considerations for adopting clean fuels in industrial operations, across the economy, and for consumers.
- Capacity building and training opportunities to enable increased use of clean fuels.
- Awareness or training projects related to biofuels (including cellulosic ethanol).
- Awareness or training projects related to renewable diesel, synthetic fuels, sustainable aviation fuels, clean hydrogen, or renewable natural gas.

Eligibility
- The project must address awareness and knowledge gaps among Canadians on clean fuels and clean fuel technologies.
- The project must increase knowledge and understanding of opportunities, benefits, and considerations for adopting clean fuels.
- The project may include industry capacity building and training to enable increased use of clean fuels across the economy.
