The Clean Energy for Rural and Remote Communities program provides funding to reduce fossil fuel use in Indigenous, rural and remote communities across Canada by supporting renewable energy projects, capacity building, and energy efficiency measures. Eligible applicants include First Nations, Inuit and Métis communities, governments, businesses, not-for-profit organizations, and provincial or municipal government entities.
