Who is eligible?
- PME à but lucratif or not-for-profit companies operating in the agri-food and agtech sectors.
- Companies incorporated and located in Canada.
- Private for-profit companies or not-for-profit corporations that can support the advancement of the applicant’s innovation may apply as project partners.
Who is not eligible
- Restaurants and commercial kitchens are not eligible under the listed sectors.

- Preference is given to companies with the greatest need and the highest likelihood of impacting the Canadian agricultural sector.
How to apply
- Complete the ATPA letter of intent preparation workbook.
- Complete the ATPA intake form for the letter of intent.
- Attach the completed letter of intent workbook, the completed Entente avec le partenaire de projet, and optional supporting documents.
- Submit the letter of intent and annexes online through the ATPA intake form.
- Shortlisted applicants will be invited to submit a full application.
Processing and Agreement
- Only shortlisted candidates from the letter of intent stage will be invited to submit a full application.
- Approved projects will enter into a contribution agreement with Bioenterprise Canada.
- The first payment is made only after the beneficiary shares the Bioenterprise Canada beneficiary announcement and publishes a funding acknowledgment message on social media.
- A 10% holdback is applied until the final project report is received and approved and the funding acknowledgment message has been published on the beneficiary's social media platforms.
- Beneficiaries must complete annual customer surveys for up to six years after project completion.
Additional information
- The program uses a two-step process: an open call for letters of intent, followed by an invitation-only full application.
- Only shortlisted candidates from the letter of intent stage will be invited to submit a full application.
- Unsuccessful or late letters of intent received outside the call period will be returned directly to applicants.
- The program is administered by Bioenterprise Canada in collaboration with regional and national partners.
