Eligibility

Who is eligible?

  • Building owners
  • Tenants with written permission from the building owner
  • Commercial property and business owners in the City Centre area

Who is not eligible

  • Home-based businesses
  • Properties outside the Storefront Improvement Program Area

Eligible expenses

  • Municipal planning permit fees
  • Professional services, direct labour, and materials
  • Façade upgrades, windows, doors, entrances, and signage
  • Weather protection, outdoor fixtures, and accessibility features

Ineligible Costs and Activities

  • Routine maintenance, including structural and roof repairs
  • Insurance, warranty, profit, contingencies, and cost overruns
  • Window tints or treatments, vinyl wraps, security bars, and rolling shutters
  • Costs incurred before approval, except professional services
  • Unapproved scope changes after approval
