How to apply
- Step 1: Prepare your application
- Complete the application form.
- Prepare a 1–2 page statement of intent.
- Prepare a 10-page writing sample from the work to be developed.
- Step 2: Follow submission guidelines
- Remove identifying information from the statement and sample.
- Format the documents in plain text, 12-point font.
- Save and attach the documents as Word or PDF files.
- Step 3: Submit your application
- Send the application before January 21, 2026 at midnight.
- Use the online application form provided by the Saskatchewan Writers' Guild.
- Step 4: Confirm submission
- Watch for a confirmation email within two business days after acceptance.
- Contact the Program Director if you do not receive confirmation or have questions.
Processing and Agreement
- Applications are reviewed anonymously by professional writers from outside Saskatchewan.
- The jury’s decision is final.
- The prize may be withheld if no submission is judged worthy.
- Accepted applications receive a confirmation email within two business days.
- The winner is announced in April 2026 and celebrated at the award ceremony on May 28, 2026.
