Selection criteria
- Applications are evaluated using a scoring evaluation system.
- Evaluation is based on alignment with municipal goals, community impact, feasibility, and sustainability.
- Priority is given to projects with measurable contributions to the tourism economy and the capacity to attract visitors and increase visitor spending.
- Priority is also given to projects with strong accessibility and inclusion plans supporting women, Indigenous Peoples, LGBTQ2S+ communities, and persons with disabilities.
How to apply
- Application forms are available in printed format at City Hall, the Frankford Municipal Office, and both public library locations, and in digital format through the City’s website.
- Submit a completed application form, project budget, and any supporting documentation as required in person, by mail, or electronically to the Economic Development and Tourism Department.
- Applications are accepted annually from December 1 to February 28 and must be submitted by February 28 at midnight.
Processing and Agreement
- Applications are reviewed by staff, and recommendations are provided to the Economic Development, Tourism and Special Events Committee in a staff report in March.
- The Tourism Development Fund Grant Committee evaluates applications and provides recommended grant recipients to Council for final approval.
- Successful applicants must abide by the grant conditions in Section 5.8.
- Funds must be used solely for the approved purpose, and recipients must submit a final report within 60 days of project completion.
- Any approved funds may be withheld until the conditions are met, and failure to submit the report or meet the conditions will make the individual or organization ineligible to apply for funding in future years.
