- Mississauga-based community organizations registered in the Community Group Registry Program
- Recreation, sport, arts and culture, stewardship, youth, and neighborhood-based community groups
Who is not eligible
- Businesses and for-profit organizations
- Government agencies and educational institutions
- Business Improvement Areas (BIAs) and developing groups in the registry program
- Organizations aligned with a political party
- Groups receiving funding through another City grant stream
Eligible expenses
- Salaries and wages for staff directly delivering the project or program.
- Training, supplies, equipment, and direct marketing for the project or program.
- Eligible hardware, software, rentals, permits, transportation, evaluation, accounting, and insurance tied to the project or program.
Ineligible Costs and Activities
- Activities outside Mississauga or on residential property.
- Alcohol, prizes, fundraising, memberships, travel and accommodations.
- Conferences, conventions, workshops, banquets, competitions, tournaments, and professional sporting events.
- Major capital expenses, deficit reduction, donations, bursaries, and political activities.
- Projects involving religious participation conditions or already covered by another funding source.

How to apply
- Step 1: Confirm eligibility
- Check that your group is registered and in good standing with the Community Group Registry Program.
- If needed, submit a Statement of Interest before applying.
- Step 2: Prepare the application
- Complete the online grant form in the City’s Grants Portal.
- Prepare required financial information, board contact details, and other supporting sections.
- Have two authorized signing officers review the application and terms.
- Step 3: Submit online
- Submit the completed application through the Grants Portal before the deadline.
- Do not submit by email, fax, paper, or other formats.
- Step 4: After submission
- Watch for an email confirmation of receipt.
- If approved, complete the EFT and vendor request forms sent by email.
Processing and Agreement
- Applications are reviewed by City staff for accuracy, completeness, and eligibility.
- Supporting financial documents are reviewed for financial viability.
- A peer assessment committee scores applications and makes funding recommendations.
- Funding decisions are approved by Council and communicated in writing.
- Successful recipients must sign the terms and conditions and submit reporting after the grant period.
