Eligible expenses

• Direct project labour
• Design, architectural, or engineering fees related to the façade
• Contractor fees
• Tool and equipment rental
• Project materials, supplies, shipping, and PST

Ineligible Costs and Activities

• Routine maintenance, structural repairs, roofs, and landscaping
• Interior improvements and work not visible from the public right of way
• Projects started before application approval
• Staff wages, tools or equipment purchases, and operating costs
• GST, duties, and permit fees

• Use of a professional designer or architect

• Impact on curb appeal

• Step 1: Confirm eligibility and discuss the project
  • Contact City of Dawson Creek Administration to confirm the building qualifies.
  • Obtain the program guide and application form.
• Step 2: Prepare the application package
  • Complete the application form.
  • Attach project designs, costing, and all required supporting materials.
  • Include owner authorization if needed.
• Step 3: Submit the application
  • Send the completed application to the City of Dawson Creek Administration Department by email or in person.
  • Applications must be approved before work begins.
• Step 4: Complete approved work and provide proof
  • Carry out the renovations after approval and obtain required permits.
  • Submit receipts, invoices, proof of payment, completion certification, and before-and-after photos.
• Step 5: Receive reimbursement
  • Staff verifies completion and compliance with the approval.
  • The reimbursement is then issued by cheque.

• Applications are reviewed by staff and then by the Project Review Committee.
• Applicants are notified by email and mail of the decision.
• Successful applicants must sign a Letter of Understanding.
