Eligibility

Who is eligible?

  • Private sector landowners
  • Developers
  • Property owners or bonafide purchasers, for certain study grants

Who is not eligible

  • Applicants with property tax arrears, where the program requires them to be remedied first
  • Applicants for the tipping fee grant unless the site has an approved Record of Site Condition and remediation plan
  • Applicants whose project does not involve eligible brownfield redevelopment

Eligible expenses

  • Environmental site assessments and remedial work plans
  • Environmental remediation and costs related to a Record of Site Condition or Certificate of Property Use
  • Planning and development application fees
  • Eligible tipping fees for non-hazardous material disposal
  • Demolition, site development, and related infrastructure work where permitted

How to apply

  • Step 1: Complete the application form
    • Fill in the general submission section.
    • Complete the program-specific section for the incentive you are requesting.
  • Step 2: Prepare supporting information
    • Attach the required studies, plans, and project details for the selected program.
    • Include any authorization letter if the applicant is not the registered owner.
  • Step 3: Submit the application to the City of Cornwall
    • Send the completed application to the City’s Planning, Parks and Recreation department.
  • Step 4: Follow the review process
    • The City screens the application and may request clarification or additional information.
    • Eligible applications are evaluated and then considered for approval by the City.

Processing and Agreement
