Eligibility
Who is eligible?
- Registered non-profit organizations.
- Community non-profit organizations such as registered Alberta Societies, Charities, and Non-Profit Companies.
Who is not eligible
- Individuals.
- For-profit organizations.
- Organizations and groups not registered under one of the Acts specified in Council Policy #C52.
- Organizations with overdue or incomplete reporting related to a grant previously awarded by the City.
- Other levels of government.
Eligible expenses
- Material and supplies for the event or project.
- Equipment purchase, lease, or rental.
- Insurance for event or project activities.
- Honourariums and wages (project specific), marketing and promotions, venue rental, technology costs, volunteer expenses, food and beverage (event specific), and cultural and protocol gift giving.
- Operating expenses for organizations in their developmental stage.
Ineligible Costs and Activities
- Activities advancing specific political, moral, or religious points of view.
- Activities inconsistent with the City’s values or goals; alcohol and related items.
- Deficit reduction funding or debt payments; endowments.
- Expenses already covered by another funding source; fundraising where the surplus is awarded to a beneficiary other than the applicant.
- Retroactive funding for expenses incurred prior to application approval.
Selection criteria
- Alignment with grant criteria.
- Alignment with City of Beaumont strategic objectives and directional plans.
- Merit and viability, including evidence of need, clear goals, and outcomes.
- Combined total grant funding requested and/or received in the current and recent years.

Processing and Agreement
- Applications are reviewed, evaluated, and decided by the Grant Funding Advisory Committee.

- Successful applicants enter into a funding agreement with the City of Beaumont.
