Who is eligible?

• Families living in Durham Region.
• Parents or guardians of children under 13.
• Working parents, students, and approved training participants.
• Families with a special or social need.
• Ontario Works participants with a referral.

Who is not eligible

• Families living outside Durham Region.
• Applicants without a secured child care space.
• Families who do not meet the approved activity requirement.
• Clients on maternity leave.

Eligible expenses

• Child care fees for licensed child care programs.
• Fees for approved full-day recreation programs.

Ineligible Costs and Activities

• Child care outside the approved hours or days of care.
• Additional child care not pre-approved by the caseworker.
• Care after moving out of Durham Region.
• Costs for unapproved child care providers or programs.

• The application is reviewed after submission, and the team sends email communication within one week.
• Applicants receive an approval letter by mail or email if approved.
