The Application Process page now states that the 2026 granting cycles are closed, and 2027 application dates and submission details will be published later. The prior June 1 to July 31, 2026 letter-of-inquiry window and July 31, 2026 deadline were removed from the instructions. Applicants are now directed to check back for a future announcement before submitting a new LOI.

How to apply
- Review the funding guidelines, vision, mission, and guiding principles to determine whether you are eligible and aligned with The Charis Foundation.
- Submit a one- to two-page Letter of Inquiry (LOI) by email to info@charisfoundation.ca and include LOI: [Your Organization Name] in the subject line.
Processing and Agreement
- All Letters of Inquiry are reviewed by The Charis Foundation.
- Following review, organizations are either invited to submit a full grant proposal or notified that their request has not been selected for further consideration.
- If the LOI is approved for the next stage, the organization is contacted directly with detailed instructions on the next steps.
Additional information
- Only one Letter of Inquiry per organization per calendar year.
