Eligibility

Who is eligible?

  • Tourism businesses
  • Tourism organizations
  • Event organizers
  • Owner-operators in downtown or rural settings
  • Municipal, BIA, DMO, and chamber partners

Who is not eligible

  • Festivals and events are not eligible for Tourism Marketing Support.
  • Businesses or organizations outside the York, Durham, and Headwaters regions.

Eligible expenses

  • Paid advertising, including print, radio, television, social, digital, and billboards.
  • Graphic design, printing, and production costs.
  • Familiarization tours.
  • Wayfinding signage, equipment, and new technology development or implementation.
  • Expertise, planning support, and sales mission support.

Ineligible Costs and Activities

  • Insurance.
  • Office expenses, including supplies, rent, overhead, and permanent staff costs.
  • Website maintenance and previously existing app subscriptions.
  • Industry and other membership fees.
  • CCT research and core marketing cost-sharing programs.

Processing and Agreement

  • Applications are reviewed by the relevant Industry Relations Manager before access to the application link is provided.
  • Some streams are reviewed monthly or through a fixed intake period.

  • Successful applicants must acknowledge CCT support in project materials.
  • Successful partners must submit a final report after project completion.
