- Detailed budget justification and any release time allowance letter, if applicable

- If applicable: Partnership Details form, signed Partner Letter, Applicant Partner COI document, Cultural Safety Form, and sensitive technology attestation materials

How to apply
- Step 1: Registration
- Identify the NPA and Principal Applicant(s).
- Enter proposal information and prepare a one-page summary.
- Select one funding pool and submit the registration.
- Step 2: Full Application
- Complete participant details and upload tri-agency CVs.
- Prepare the research proposal, relevance form, and budget justification.
- Upload required attachments such as SGBA+ certificates and the Data Management Plan.
- Print, sign, and upload the signature pages.
- Submit the application through ResearchNet.
Processing and Agreement
- Applications are first screened for relevance to the program objectives and funding pool.
- Eligible applications are then reviewed through asynchronous peer review.
- Only applications with discrepant scores are discussed by committee.
- Funding is awarded in rank order, and applications scoring below 3.5 are not funded.
- Funded teams must attend a virtual kick-off meeting and submit final reports.
Additional information
- The Partner Linkage Tool is not mandatory and does not confer any advantage in the evaluation and funding of applications.
- CIHR will host webinars to support participants with the requirements of the funding opportunity and answer questions.
- A virtual networking event is planned to help facilitate collaborations between researchers from different research fields and disciplines.
