Overview
This program funds caribou habitat restoration in British Columbia with no maximum request limit. It supports functional restoration of linear features and ecological restoration to recover disturbed habitat.
Activities funded
- Functional restoration of roads and other linear features near or leading to intact, high-value caribou habitat.
- Restoration treatments for disturbed sites where natural vegetation recovery is not occurring or is limited.
- Planting or treatment activities to reduce the suitability of matrix habitat for primary prey (e.g., areas with high shrub production).
- Ecological restoration of linear features to return them toward adjacent intact habitat types.
