The CRSP Program Fund page now shows a specific EOI deadline of July 24, 2026 at 4 pm MDT instead of the earlier Spring 2026 opening language. The How to apply section also now instructs applicants to email the completed EOI to cancergrants@gov.ab.ca with the subject line CRSP 2026-27 Grant EOI: [Title of Project]. The supporting program guidelines publication was also updated to June 1, 2026, and the Indigenous stream guidelines were updated to June 1, 2026. Selection criteria
- Research and projects focused on primary and secondary prevention will be given priority
- Considerations for exceptions may be possible for proposals that consider other aspects of cancer, including tertiary prevention, survivorship, treatment, and rehabilitation

- Follow the directions on the form to submit your completed Expression of Interest (EOI) to Primary and Preventative Health Services at cancergrants@gov.ab.ca, using the subject line CRSP 2026-27 Grant EOI: [Title of Project].
- EOIs deemed eligible will be invited to fill in the full application.
Processing and Agreement
- PPHS will use the Expression of Interest to pre-screen proposals in consideration of priorities, alignment and eligibility
- PPHS will provide recommendations and feedback where feasible
- Proposals related to Indigenous-specific cancer initiatives will undergo evaluation by an Indigenous research expert and the Cancer Expert Review Panel
