Who is eligible?
- Canadian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)
- Universities, large firms, research organizations, relevant not-for-profit organizations, and industry associations
- Other interested Canadian organizations, including non-SMEs
Eligible expenses
- Travel and accommodations costs associated with the mission
Selection criteria
- Preference may be given to SME applicants with at least 15 full-time equivalent employees located in Canada, excluding contract employees.
- Preference may be given to SME applicants that have commercialized one or more products internationally.
- Preference may be given to SME applicants with more than $500,000 CAD in annual sales revenue.
- If one or more of these preference criteria are not met, a strong rationale must be provided in the Expression of Interest form for possible consideration.
How to apply
- Register with NRC IRAP by clicking the REGISTER button.
- Complete the Expression of Interest (EOI) form provided to potentially eligible applicants.
- Register directly for the ITEA PO Days event.
Processing and Agreement
- Results will be notified on July 18, 2025.
- Selected Canadian participants will be invited to an online mission kick-off webinar in July 2025, with the exact date to be confirmed.
- Selected participants will receive instructions and information about the reimbursement support.

Incorporated, profit-oriented SME in Canada with 500 or fewer full-time equivalent employees
At least 12 months in operation and a minimum of 5 full-time equivalent employees in Canada, excluding founders and contract employees
Must have the capacity and technology to undertake international multi-year R&D collaboration and commercialize the results; NRC IRAP client eligibility is required for funding
