Eligibility
- The project must support Canadian music creators, publishers, or audiences.
- Music presentation events must include at least 50% Canadian music content.
- Applicants must demonstrate capacity to execute the proposed project.
- Work Commissioning applications require a signed agreement with SOCAN member(s).

How to apply
- Step 1: Prepare Application
- Complete the grant application form.
- Develop a detailed project proposal with objectives and expected outcomes.
- Step 2: Compile Supporting Documents
- Prepare budget breakdown and project timeline.
- For Work Commissioning: obtain signed agreement with SOCAN member(s).
- Step 3: Submit Application
- Submit completed application and supporting documents to the SOCAN Foundation.
- Step 4: Review Process
- Application is screened by the SOCAN Foundation Manager.
- Eligible applications go to board committees for review.
- Final decision made at quarterly board meeting.
Processing and Agreement
- Applications are initially screened by the SOCAN Foundation Manager.
- Eligible applications are submitted to board committees for review.
- Committees make recommendations to the full board of directors.
- Final approval granted at quarterly board meetings in March, June, September, and November.
- Applicants are notified of approval or refusal decisions.
