Selection criteria

  • Review and recommendation by board committees.
  • Final approval by the full board of directors.

How to apply

  • Step 1: Complete the online form
    • Submit the application through the online form.
  • Step 2: Include required agreement if applicable
    • For Work Commissioning Assistance, include the agreement between the applicant and the SOCAN member(s) being commissioned.
  • Step 3: Submit for review
    • The application is screened and then passed to the review process.

Processing and Agreement

  • Applications are first screened by the SOCAN Foundation Manager.
  • They are then reviewed by board committees, which make recommendations to the full board.
  • Final approval is given by the board at quarterly meetings, usually in March, June, September, and November.

Additional information

  • The program was retired effective January 2026.
  • Funding ended immediately and will not be renewed in 2026.
  • Organizations approved in 2025 will still receive funding.
