Eligibility

Who is eligible?

  • Canadian small and medium-sized enterprises.
  • Incorporated, profit-oriented businesses in Canada.
  • Canadian SME participants that are NRC IRAP clients.

Eligible expenses

  • Travel and accommodations costs associated with the mission.
  • Eligible activity costs related to developing a partnership with a Japanese MNE.

Selection criteria

  • Preference may be given to applicants with a minimum of 10 full-time equivalent employees.
  • Preference may be given to applicants that have commercialized one or more products domestically or internationally.
  • Preference may be given to applicants with greater than $500,000 CAD in annual revenue.

How to apply

  • Register online using the register button at the bottom of the page.
  • Complete the Expression of Interest form provided to potentially eligible applicants.
  • Provide additional information about the applicant, organization, technology, and co-innovation opportunities of interest.

Processing and Agreement

  • Selected participants will be sent instructions and information about the travel reimbursement support.
  • If travel advisories recommend against travel to Japan at the time of the mission, the mission may take place virtually.
