Eligibility

Who is eligible?

  • Eligible UK and Canadian organizations and researchers applying in consortia.
  • Canadian SMEs, UK SMEs, NRC researchers, academic researchers, and RTOs.
  • Organizations from other EUREKA member states, if they arrange their own funding.
  • Research institutes, universities, SMEs, and larger companies are welcome.

Who is not eligible

  • Projects involving research and development of products, processes or technologies with military and/or non-peaceful applications.

How to apply

  • Each interested partner must contact their local funding agency before starting a project application.
  • Canadian applicants must first register online to receive an Expression of Interest form.
  • Expressions of Interest must be received before the mandatory Canadian Expression of Interest application form submission cut-off.
  • The Lead Applicant must register on the Innovate UK secure server to receive a unique login and application number.
  • The consortium must complete the EUREKA project form and all required documents as instructed by the National Funding Bodies.
  • All requested material must be submitted via the Innovate UK secure server before the International Consortium Project Proposal submission deadline.

Processing and Agreement

  • Expressions of Interest are reviewed to determine whether the organization, project, and consortium meet Canadian eligibility guidelines.
  • Only eligible EOIs are invited to submit a full project proposal.
  • Selected proposals are approved and funded jointly by Innovate UK and the NRC.
  • Selected projects are submitted to EUREKA for labelling.
  • After project selection, applicants may need to submit a National Funding Proposal or other documents to finalize funding contribution agreements with their National Funding Bodies.
