Latest source update
Last Update: July 9, 2026

Eligibility tightened for some full-time students
The Master list of designated educational institutions now shows that, starting August 1, 2026, most full-time students attending private, for-profit schools in Canada will no longer be eligible for the Canada Student Grant for Full-Time Students. It also adds a suspension for Atlantic Business College for study periods starting August 1, 2026 and after, while some current students may still qualify until July 31, 2029. The dependant grant page also removes the “pending government approval” wording from the amount description: eligible students could receive up to $280 per month, or up to $2,240 per year, for each dependant until the end of the 2026 to 2027 school year. The province-or-territory application page also now lists Manitoba among the provinces that use the part-time student aid form, but no new deadlines, contacts, or portal links were added.
