Overview

Canada Post Community Foundation Grants support Canadian schools, registered charities, registered non-profit organizations, amateur athletic associations, small municipalities, community organizations, and Indigenous organizations that deliver projects for children and youth up to age 21. The program funds community, education, health, therapeutic, rehabilitation, cultural, recreational, and reconciliation initiatives that create new services or expand an organization's capacity to serve young people. Project grants can provide up to $25,000, while Signature Grants and the Indigenous Truth and Reconciliation Signature Grant provide $50,000. Applications are submitted online during the annual February intake; for the 2026 cycle, applications opened February 9 and closed February 27 at 2 p.m. Eastern Time, so the current application round is closed.

Eligibility

Who is eligible?

  • Canadian schools
  • Registered charities with a Canadian charitable registration number
  • Registered non-profit organizations with a valid B/N business registration number
  • Community organizations, including unregistered organizations and community libraries
  • Registered Canadian amateur athletic associations and small municipalities

Who is not eligible

  • Regional or provincial chapters of national groups are not eligible for Signature Grants.
  • Recipients of a 2024 or 2025 Canada Post Community Foundation Signature Grant cannot apply for any Signature Grants in 2026.
