Selection criteria

  • Innovation in the literacy field (40%).
  • Demonstrated results in helping Canadians live a fully engaged life (20%).
  • Adult education and skills that support life, community, workplace or family engagement (10%).
  • Well planned and organized program activities (10%).
  • Program shareability across the literacy community (5%).
  • Partner involvement in design, delivery or outcomes (5%).
  • Community need addressed for adult learners (10%).

How to apply

  • Step 1: Review program requirements
    • Read the eligibility information, FAQs, and application questions before applying.
  • Step 2: Complete the online application
    • Fill in the official online application form.
    • Provide the required organization and program information.
  • Step 3: Upload supporting letters
    • Include two letters of support or impact statements.
    • At least one letter must come from a program participant or learner.
  • Step 4: Submit online
    • Submit the application through the official online form only.
    • Applications submitted outside the online system will not be considered.

Processing and Agreement

  • Applications are reviewed after submission through the online form.
  • Applications are assessed based on the published evaluation criteria.
  • Winners are notified by July 31, 2026.
  • Award winners agree to participate in Innovation Learning Labs webinars.
