Latest change: The CIRIF page now includes a new How to Apply document and FAQ guidance clarifying deadlines, eligible costs, and funding limits.
CIRIF page updated with FAQs and How to Apply guidance
The CIRIF page now links to a new How to Apply document dated June 10, 2026, and adds FAQ guidance on how institutions should prepare proposals in CAMS. The new guidance says proposals are due three months after the Impact+ Chair acceptance deadline, and it clarifies that database subscriptions are eligible, O&M can cover non-CFI-funded infrastructure, and institutions do not need matching funds. Funding terms are also clarified: each institution receives $4 million per accepted Canada Impact+ Research Chair, eligible projects may request up to $6 million from the CFI, and partner funding can allow total eligible costs to exceed $6 million if the difference is covered by cash and/or in-kind contributions.
