Program renamed and selection rule updated
The Canada Impact+ Research Chairs program has been renamed the Eddie Goldenberg Research Chairs of Canada program, and the review and recruitment pages now use the new program name while stating that the original terms and conditions remain unchanged. On the review guidelines page, the rule for placement on the ranked reversion list changed from a minimum Good rating on all criteria to an average Very strong rating across all selection criteria. The recruitment requirements page also updates program references and the application link wording to match the renamed program.

How to apply
- Register with the Tri-agency Institutional Programs Secretariat (TIPS) by the specific deadline for each intake.
- Submit a registration and full application through the Convergence Portal.
Processing and Agreement
- TIPS will undertake an administrative review of all materials to ensure submissions meet the program’s eligibility requirements and application guidelines.
- Failure to meet the requirements and guidelines may result in the application being withdrawn from the competition.
- The Multidisciplinary Selection Committee will carry out a rigorous, competitive, single-phase review process.
- The committee will make funding recommendations to the Tri-agency Institutional Programs Secretariat Steering Committee based on the selection criteria and the available budget.
- TIPS may request documentation within 48 months of submission to demonstrate that the recruitment requirements were followed, and may withdraw a nomination, suspend future payments, or terminate an already active Impact+ Research Chair or Emerging Leaders award if the requirements were not followed.
