Eligibility

Who is eligible?

  • Incorporated, profit-oriented small or medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Canada that are registered NRC IRAP clients.
  • Eligible Chilean companies that meet the criteria on the Corfo call for proposals webpage.

Who is not eligible

  • Universities, research institutes, and participants from other countries are not eligible for funding from NRC IRAP or Corfo.

Selection criteria

  • Preference may be given to SME applicants with at least 15 full-time equivalent employees located in Canada, one or more products commercialized internationally, and more than $500,000 CAD in annual sales revenue; if one or more criteria are unmet, a strong rationale must be provided in the Expression of Interest form for possible consideration.
  • Preference is given to projects focusing on sustainable mining, clean energy, and sustainable construction.

How to apply

  • Canadian applicants must register using the Register button at the bottom of the page and provide basic information about the applicant and organization.
  • Each Canadian applicant seeking funding must submit an expression of interest form.
  • If invited, all project partners must complete and submit the international consortium project proposal package through the Eureka application portal, including the Eureka project application form, the NRC IRAP Canadian SME Annex form, and a draft international consortium agreement.
  • Eligible project partners must then complete their national funding body proposals and sign legally binding funding agreements.

Processing and Agreement

  • NRC IRAP will review registrations and contact applicants if more information is required.
  • EOIs will be evaluated by the applicant's ITA and the NRC IRAP International Office.
  • Canadian ICPP applications will be evaluated by an NRC IRAP evaluation team including the applicant's ITA and the NRC IRAP International Office.
  • After each national funding body has evaluated the submitted applications, a final joint project selection will be performed.
  • Selected project partners will work independently with their national funding bodies to complete funding proposals and sign legally binding funding agreements.
