- Professional artists
- Independent curators
- Artists in visual arts, arts and crafts, architectural research, digital arts, film and video, literature, storytelling, spoken word, dance, music, theatre, circus, multidisciplinary arts, and popular song
Who is not eligible
- Corporations or partnerships involving the applicant artist
- Non-profit organizations employing the applicant artist
- Projects mainly for self-publication, websites, portfolios, or promotion
- Projects tied to academic programs
- Projects already supported by another CALQ program

- Artist and collaborator fees
- Research and copyright fees
- Graphic design, translation, editing, and proofreading
- Promotion, advertising, and distribution costs
- Specialized equipment when necessary for the project

How to apply
- Step 1: Prepare the application
- Read the program requirements carefully
- Complete the project description form and personal information form
- Gather proof of partners’ commitment and the supporting files requested in the form
- Step 2: Submit online
- Log in to Mon dossier CALQ through the Government Authentication Service
- Fill in the online application form
- Submit the file online
- Step 3: Alternate submission method
- If online submission is not available for the program, send the file by WeTransfer
- Follow the instructions provided in the project description form
- Step 4: Receive confirmation
- Keep the email acknowledgement of receipt
- Monitor the file status in Mon dossier CALQ if registered
Processing and Agreement
- Applications are first reviewed by CALQ program staff for eligibility and program fit
- Eligible applications are then assessed by a jury, and assessors may be consulted if needed
- The jury makes recommendations to the board of directors for final decision
- Applicants are informed of the decision about four months after submission
- Approved applicants receive a letter with the grant terms and conditions
Additional information
- Applicants can submit up to five applications and receive up to five CALQ grants per fiscal year.
- Applicants may have no more than three projects under review, supported, or in progress at the same time.
- Recipients must file a grant use report after the project is completed.
- Applications are confidential under Quebec access-to-information rules.
