Who is eligible?
- Artists in architectural research, arts and crafts, digital arts, film and video art, multidisciplinary arts, or visual arts.
- Artists with at least two years of artistic practice.
- Canadian citizens or permanent residents.
- Artists who have habitually resided in Quebec during the last 12 months.
Who is not eligible
- Groups of artists or writers, formerly collectives, are not eligible.
- Projects carried out as part of a school program are not eligible.
- Projects that have already been refused by CALQ are not eligible.
- Incomplete applications are not eligible.

- Personal insurance costs.
- Travel costs, including visa fees.
- Living expenses.
- Project realization costs.

Selection criteria
- Quality of artistic work.
- Interest and relevance of the project.
- Feasibility of the project.
- Applications are assessed on merit, based on the program objectives and specific evaluation criteria.
- Selection also takes into account the comparative value of the projects and available credits.
How to apply
- Log in to Mon dossier CALQ and complete the scholarship application online.
- Provide the appropriate form and a complete application file with all required attachments.
- If online transmission is not available for the program or cannot be used, submit the file by WeTransfer following the instructions in the registration form.
- CALQ does not receive applications by mail.
Processing and Agreement
- Applications are evaluated by a jury made up of members from the CALQ-approved resource person bank.
- For reciprocity-oriented residencies and specialized residencies, a jury mandated by the artistic direction of the host site abroad analyzes the applications.
- The jury's recommendations are submitted to the CALQ board for approval, and decisions are final and without appeal.
- If the application is accepted, the announcement letter includes the terms and conditions for using the scholarship.
- The recipient must provide a detailed report on the use of the scholarship or the results of the research within three months after project completion.
